Views and Facts about New Bern

New Bern was having their 300 anniversary founded in 1710 by Baron DeGraffenried of Bern, Switzerland. These are some pictures of the area.

The streets of New Bern

We followed "Bear" tracks thru the town on the sidewalks and everywhere we stopped and enjoyed the colorful bears.

First night on the road in Penn. to New Bern, N. Carolina

Spent the first night in Cabelas's parking lot with 70+ inches of snow piled up around us. We were cozy in our little Rialta motor home. Heater keeping us nice and warm, with the wind a howling around us....Didn't stay long enough to take pictures after all we live in snow country...then off to North Carolina, New Bern. A wonderful town, best fried oysters ever, should have taken a picture of the dish, but by the time I thought of it, my plate was empty. Pepsi Cola was invented here, so of course we had to drink some.

From Magog to points south and west

Gremlin was very happy to be on the "road" but what he didn't understand is that he has company! Sweetie and Griffe our kittys. Here they are enjoying the road trip too!
